You’d be hard-pressed to find anything that comes close to being so universally beloved as the taco, at least in the western hemisphere.

Tacos are practically their own food group. They’re good any time of the night or day, all year round.

And fortunately, Whatcom County has no shortage of spots for these tasty treats.

If you’re in the Bellingham area, Black Sheep strikes the perfect balance for a friendly bar and a taco joint, while California Tacos and Fresh Juices give you a Golden State taste in every bite.

But that’s just two of the many taco places in the area. Tell us your favorite place to get a taco in Whatcom County — restaurants, taquerías and taco trucks are all fair game — and we’ll create a bracket that will allow you to vote weekly on the best taco spot around Bellingham.

The Herald’s bracket will feature 32 taco joints and five voting rounds. The four semifinalists will feature in our Best Taco in Washington bracket, featuring restaurants from other cities around the Evergreen State.
