Taco Bell Confrontation Between Supervisor, Worker Proves Fatal

SCOTT TOWNSHIP, PA — A dispute between a Taco Bell manager and an employee erupted into gunfire on Wednesday, with the worker killed at nearby financial planning business Northwestern Mutual.

The victim, identified by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office as Dorian Carver, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect in the case, Zairyre Simmons, 23, of Pittsburgh, has been charged with criminal homicide, receiving stolen property and carrying a firearm without a license, according to court records.

Simmons is being held in the Allegheny County Jail and has been denied bail. He faces a Dec. 2 preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Kim Berkeley Clark.

It’s unclear when the Taco Bell will reopen.
