The family-owned drive-thru was the invention of Omaha local William T. Barnes. At its height, the Bronco’s franchise included six locations in Omaha and several out-of-state restaurants.
Over the years, the business had its ups and downs. As of the time of publication, there are just two Bronco’s locations left in Omaha: one at 45th & Leavenworth and the other at 120th & Pacific.
Bronco’s signature burgers are made of fresh, not frozen, beef sandwiched in locally-baked buns. Its fries – said by some to be the best in the city – are made of hand-cut potatoes and always perfectly crispy.
