We’re always intrigued when we find a new way to cook a familiar recipe for dinner, especially if the recipe has gone viral. Oven burgers really caught the attention of a lot of home cooks. And yes, it’s just what it sounds like: a hamburger cooked in the oven. It comes out soft, cheesy and crave-worthy.
You can use whatever type of cheese you like on this
burger recipe. This would be a fun recipe to make ahead of time for potlucks, cookouts or family get-togethers. Serve the burgers with an assortment of burger toppings.
Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 40 minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef (make into 4 patties)
- 4 slices American cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- optional hamburger toppings: lettuce, onion, tomato, pickles, jalapenos, mustard, mayonnaise, ketchup, etc.
Here’s how to make it:
- Generously season one side of the burger patties with salt and pepper. Place them, seasoned side down, into a baking pan that’s been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Season the other side. Bake them in a preheated 375-degree F oven for 25 minutes. Top with the cheese slices about 1 minute before removing from the oven to melt.
- Build the burgers (no toppings yet!) and wrap each in a piece of aluminum foil. Put them back into the oven for about 2 to 3 minutes. Serve with desired hamburger toppings.
